A Night of Art, Music, and Community – Art on the Ave NYC Silent Fundraiser at 2 Lafayette
On a recent vibrant evening at 2 Lafayette, I had the honor of participating in the Art on the Ave NYC Silent Fundraiser—an unforgettable celebration of creativity, community, and the transformative power of the arts in New York City.
Seventeen captivating works of art were on auction, each piece telling its own story while contributing to a larger mission: to support the vital work Art on the Ave NYC has been doing since 2020. From the very beginning, this initiative has reimagined the cityscape by filling vacant storefronts with stunning, locally-made art—from SoHo to Inwood and every neighborhood in between.
The night itself was alive with the sound of music. Throughout the venue, guests were serenaded by a live violinist, saxophonist, pianist, and a soul-stirring solo vocalist. The performances created a moving, elegant atmosphere that seamlessly complemented the art and elevated the event into something truly magical.
Artists, art lovers, and supporters mingled throughout the night, engaged in rich conversations about the power of public art, the importance of community-based initiatives, and the lasting impact that organizations like Art on the Ave NYC have had in giving local creatives a platform.
It was a night to celebrate not only art, but also the resilience and beauty of our communities. I’m proud to be a part of this movement, and grateful for the opportunity to share space with fellow artists and supporters who believe, like I do, that art should be visible, accessible, and woven into the fabric of our everyday lives.
